Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how we review campsites, what we check, and how to use our ratings for your next stay.
How are your campsite reviews collected?
Every review is based on a verified guest stay. We cross-check the visitor's booking confirmation, ask for photo documentation of the pitch, shower block, and pool area, and then summarize the site manager's response when one is provided. This keeps the feedback grounded in what you'll actually find on arrival.
What exactly does a pitch quality rating include?
We look at the levelness of the ground, drainage after rain, the amount of shade from trees or windbreaks, and the distance to the nearest water point and electric hookup. For motorhome pitches, we also check the width of the access road and the condition of the service point.
Do you cover both short-stay and long-stay value?
Yes. We break down the nightly rate for a standard tent pitch, a campervan with electric hookup, and a seasonal mobile home rental. We also note whether the campsite offers a reduced weekly rate and how that compares to the daily price during peak season.
How do you assess family-friendliness and pet policies?
We check for a kids' club, playground equipment, and the depth of the pool's shallow end. For pets, we verify the maximum dog size allowed, any extra fees, and whether there are designated dog-walking areas or restrictions near the beach.
Can I filter reviews by specific amenities?
Absolutely. Use the filter on the reviews page to narrow results by motorhome service point, electric hookups, shaded plots, pool access, or proximity to cycle paths. You can also sort by season to see how crowding changes between June and September.
Are the restaurant prices mentioned in the reviews current?
We update restaurant pricing twice a year, once in spring and once after the summer season. The review notes the date of the last price check, so you can gauge how recent the information is. Menu items and prices are always verified against the campsite's official board.
